  • Is safe for synthetic materials, as well as natural fibers.

  • Uses less energy and leaves no hazardous waste.

  • Contributes to a healthier community and a healthier work environment.

Changing seasons in Minnesota means changing wardrobes. It’s time to make room in the closet for those sweaters, warm coats and soon, mittens, hats and boots.

In our global marketplace, we can enjoy fashions and styles from fabrics and fibers from around the world. Shorty's offers you a way to take care of the clothing you enjoy wearing so much!

Laundering and dry cleaning technology has evolved over the years in response to customers' concerns about and sensitivity to chemicals and odors.

Shorty's, a locally owned and operated Launderer/Dry Cleaner in Stillwater, takes our customers' concerns and sensitivities seriously. This past summer, we installed an Ipura machine -- the greenest dry cleaning machine available. With Ipura, garments are not immersed in strong cleaning solvents, resulting in virtually no chemical or odors.

Ipura’s technology uses warm air to expand fibers. Then, a mist of mild organic solvent removes soil, dust and odors from between fibers. Rather than saturating garments in solvents, compacting and stiffening the material, Ipura’s warm “air bath” leaves garments lighter and fluffier, with no pilling, lint or odors.

This new technology uses less energy, leaves no hazardous waste and contributes to a healthier work environment for the crew at Shorty’s. Ipura is also healthier for the River Valley Community -- it is an eco-friendly method that many of our customers will appreciate.

Are Your Clothes Ready for Winter?

The organic solvent is safe for synthetic materials, including the adhesives used to hold the soles on UGGS, mukluks and other cold weather footwear.

Do you have a hand-knit sweater that needs to be cleaned? A vintage jacket from a consignment shop? Or maybe those UGGS could use a good cleaning. Come to Shorty's and see, smell and feel the difference of Ipura dry cleaning.
